Pat Travers is one of my favourite guitarists!  What a treat to see him so close up at the 2007 London Ontario International Bluesfest.  Saw him in the early 80,s but that was after Pat Thrall and Tommy Aldrige had left the band and Pat was the only guitar player (most of his songs really do call for two guitar players).

Pat has always had a great touch as a guitarist: fast and aggressive balanced with grace and finesse, rocking balanced with melodic, and above all emotive!  He has played for so long, with so many people (he turned pro at 14 with Ronnie Hawkins band), he learned to work in varying styles – I think few players have paid more dues.

A guitarist’s guitarist, who put on a great set with enough of the old familiar songs to satisfy mixed with new. Powerful vocals are a PT trademark (click for larger image – back to return to post):

This view is pretty much what the artist saw from the stage – a great day to Rock & Roll (click for larger image – back to return to post)!

Going for what he knows with smokin’ articulate and emotive co-lead player Kirk McKim (a good Texan!) – (click for larger image – back to return to post):

Pat is very down to earth, kind, polite and it was great meeting him!
